We’re building a connected trail system that offers something for everyone

Post Canyon Trail System

Post Canyon is a large network of trails located on the west side of Hood River.

There's numerous riding options, anything from big gaps to flowing downhill and twisty cross-country. You can link it together in countless ways.

The vast majority of the trails are on the Hood River County Tree Farm which brings in about 30% of Hood River County's budget. These trails are a secondary use of the forest and are run by the Hood River County Forestry Dept.

Please check trail conditions before you go.

Family Man Area

The Family Man Staging Area is at the heart of the Post Canyon Trail System.

Family Man boasts several skill building areas, perfect for the beginning rider to the professional! In 2022 and 2023, Family Man will receive a new look and feel. The HRC Forestry Department will thin the trees to make a healthier forest.

Then the HRATS magic will begin with the Future of Family Man Concept Plan and new features and linking jump lines will take shape!  Your next adventure to Family Man skill progression awaits!

Golden Eagle Park

The Pump Track at the Golden Eagle Park has been a huge success since it opened fall of 2018.

HRATS is very proud to have worked with Hood River Parks and Recreation to bring this world class track to our area.

The site includes the pump track, shelter area, and a small trail skills course. Rental for small or large groups is available on a fee basis.

Please visit Golden Eagle Park on the Hood River Parks and Rec. to learn more.

Nestor Peak

HRATS is investing time and money to reinvigorate in the Washington DNR forest the Nestor 26 Trail System!

This trail loop, near White Salmon, Washington, will provide 26+ miles of singletrack for hikers, runners, and mountain bikers to enjoy in scenic Washington State DNR lands.

Trails in Washington - Columbia Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA)

CAMBA has a long and rich history of building amazing trails on the Washington side of the Columbia River.

Public trails include the Syncline Nature Area (Coyote Wall and Catherine Creek) and Buck Creek near Northwestern Lake, just outside of White Salmon, Washington.

The Buck Creek Trail System, which included Nestor Peak, boasts over 26 miles of trails ready to be reopened with support from our donors and volunteers.

We are actively fundraising to begin work on the next section. Check out our fundraising page, GoFundMe HRATS Buck Creek Project!
