HRATS'S MISSION IS TO CREATE, ENHANCE, AND PRESERVE POSITIVE TRAIL EXPERIENCES FOR ALL TRAIL USERS.

HRATS Organizational History

Mountain bike specific advocacy in the Columbia Gorge area began with a passionate group of individuals.

Over time the group of individuals became the Columbia Area Mountain Bike Advocates (CAMBA). Recognizing an opportunity to provide more coordinated trail advocacy, HRATS was founded in 2012 by a group of enthusiastic trail users led by founding Board President Matt Klee. As a chapter of the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA), HRATS grew into an effective advocacy and trail building group and expanded the existing trail network in the Post Canyon area into a well established and much-loved community asset.

Today, our volunteer-run organization works with partners in both Oregon and Washington to build and maintain trails.

Today, our volunteer-run organization works with partners in both Oregon and Washington to build and maintain trails throughout the Hood River area, locations include the Post Canyon trail system on Hood River County land and the Golden Eagle Park and Pump Track in partnership with Hood River County Parks and Recreation.

WORKING IN THE COMMUNITY FOR OVER 10 YEARS.

OUR VISION FOR THE TRAIL AREA:

Want to learn more about planning for the future of HRATS or learn about or past successes?

We’re building a connected trail system that offers something for everyone - first time riders, visiting pros, families with kids, hikers, runners, and everyone in between. We want youth and adults living in the Hood River area to cultivate a love for the outdoors and grow into committed and active trail advocates. We are working to expand trail access to all communities in the area, so that locals of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy the trails, progress their skills, and feel at home in a welcoming community of trail enthusiasts.
